WHAT YOU WILL DO Specimen processing and the analysis, evaluation and reporting of waived and moderately complex laboratory test results Perform, result, review and maintain quality control records and seek assistance for resolution of issues Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment used in performing job functions Perform proficiency testing, per standard patient testing protocol. CLIA testing personnel responsibilities Process and evaluate orders and specimens for acceptability. Maintain specimen identification and integrity through entire process. Prioritize and distribute specimens to appropriate section for analysis. Prepare specimens to be sent to testing laboratory Answer large number of telephone inquiries. Fax, mail and deliver reports to appropriate location Register patients and place test orders, as required. Collect and receive patient samplesAssist pathologist with FNAs, biopsies, frozen sections and/or autopsies.Perform culture plating techniques, as required. Participate in billing activities, as required. Load specimens on automated analyzer, as required. WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED - Adapt and respond quickly to changing priorities. - Laboratory diagnostic testing experience - Strong communication skills and ability to multi-task. - Strong organizational skills.
