WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Works with diagnostic mammography schedule in advance to ensure patients are scheduled correctly and that prior imaging is available for the patient’s visit. Serves as the point person for central scheduling to contact regarding appointment availability and appropriateness of the exam, i.e. diagnostic versus screening. Facilitates the approval process for breast MRI with the radiologists. Serves as the liaison for physician offices and patients with questions regarding next steps in the mammography process. Contacts physicians and patients regarding abnormal results. Makes arrangements for further imaging and/or biopsy as instructed. Arranges follow-up appointments for patients as instructed by physician. Coordinates office visits with surgeons, oncologists, and radiation oncologists for the positive biopsy patients.
