Job Details
Responsibilities
1. Oversee all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
2. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
3. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
4. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
5. Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
6. Support month-end and year-end close process.
7. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
8. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
9. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
10. Additional controller duties as necessary.
Qualifications
1. Proven working experience as a Financial Controller, preferably in the construction industry.
2. 5 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
3. Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
4. CPA or CMA preferred.
5. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
6. Experience with creating financial statements.
7. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
8. Experience with financial reporting, risk management, financial analysis, AP AR, and fixed assets.
9. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
11. Strong leadership qualities and a team player.
12. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
13. Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation.
