The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners for the Village of Franklin Park is now accepting applications for the position of Police Officer
Testing is being conducted for anticipated hiring needs
and to establish a new Eligibility List for future hiring.
The Village of Franklin Park’s Police Department’s mission is to deliver quality law enforcement service to residents and businesses of the community and to provide them a safe and secure environment that fosters a sense of security in person, property and mind. The Department accomplishes this mission through a dedicated, professional and compassionate workforce committed to enforcing the law, preserving peace, preventing crime, controlling traffic and protecting civil rights and liberties.
The Police Department provides the village with a full range of police services including: criminal investigations, patrol operations, traffic and parking enforcement, crime prevention and community policing.

You must meet the following minimum requirements:
· Citizenship: Must be a Citizen of the United States or an individual who has permanent resident status and is legally authorized to work in the United States. Must under federal law, be authorized to obtain, carry, purchase, or otherwise possess a firearm.
· Driver’s License: Must possess a valid Driver’s License at the time of application.
· Age requirement: Must be at least 21 years at the time of application (6/5/24). Must be under 35 years old at the time of application (6/5/24) AND at such time as the final eligibility register is posted, unless they have been certified as a full-time police officer in a municipality in the United States, or are otherwise exempt by State Statute 65 IL 5/10-2.1-6
· Education: Must have proof of High School Diploma, GED Certificate or High School Proficiency Statement.
· Character: Must have no felony convictions and be of good moral character as described in State Statute 65 IL 5/10-2.1-6.
· Residence: At this time there are no stated requirements for residency declared by the Village of Franklin Park.
· Testing: Must be able to successfully complete all phases of testing.
