Painter/Blaster is responsible for the preparation of metal surfaces for painting and will also paint components, equipment, interiors, and exteriors of vessels. Two (2) years of marine blasting and painting experience.

• Read and interpret paint specifications and manufacturer application instructions.
• Well versed in spraying conventional, airless, or hand paint systems.
• Can apply zinc, epoxy, enamel, or other types of surface coatings.
• Can troubleshoot blasting and painting equipment and read wet or dry gauges.
• Candidates will prepare surfaces for painting by smoothing, filling, shaping, taping, flushing, and removing old paint.
• Candidates will identify safety hazards while working around paint substances, chemicals, and equipment.
• Candidates will mix, match, tint, and blend coating materials by adding agents (e.g., retardants, dryers, solvents, thinners) to verify correct color, texture, consistency, hardening, and drying.

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
