General Description

Accountable to the CIDS Program Director. Responsible for participating as a member of the Screening Team, administering a variety of screenings to children 6 months to 6 years old in Chemung County.

Responsibilities

Daily

· Coordinate and administer developmental, articulation, vision, and hearing screenings

· Scoring of developmental and articulation screenings

· Provide case management for children services

· Writing confidential reports to parents and health care providers as required

Periodic

· Completion of monthly reports

· Completion of monthly screening services reminders to families

· Facilitate necessary referrals

· Assist in maintenance of program statistics

· Assist in maintaining a confidential record keeping system

Ongoing

· Maintain relationships with Chemung County School Districts, Head Start, local daycares, and other community agencies

· Participate in community education/awareness activities

· Assist in community outreach activities

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, or a related field preferred or 5 years of direct service working with children and families. An Early Childhood Certificate or Family Development Credential will be considered. Knowledge of community resources and some experience with preschool children necessary. Experience in testing/evaluating of young children desirable. Must have a positive regard of children and families. Must have own reliable transportation. CIDS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
