Job Description :

C.H. Robinson seeks the services of a in Plainfield, IN to provide strategic planning for all facility and material handling system needs spanning cross-dock and fulfillment networks.

• In this role, you will : design, develop and implement a process for managing, budgeting, and overseeing the material handling equipment (MHE) program;
• execute facility and material handling system (MHS) changes and / or installations; analyze current facility MHS and make recommendations for improvements on a cost effective basis;
• develop viable contingency plans for all facilities; collaborate with procurement teams and finance to onboard and manage suppliers;
• design and implement preventative maintenance programs for all MHE across the network; consult and coordinate with Senior Management and work closely with Engineering, Operations, Safety and outside vendors on MHE needs and programs across our network;
• partner with Talent Acquisition to establish a pipeline, recruit, select, and onboard qualified and diverse talent; manage annual merit and equity programs for the assigned team to align compensation with performance results;
• align teams’ passion with their potential and commit to consistently providing feedback, development opportunities, and recognition;

and model the C.H. Robinson leadership principles and visibly lead and support change management including active involvement in communication, implementation, and reinforcement.

Domestic travel will be required approximately 25% of the time. The qualified applicant must live within reasonable commuting distance of Plainfield, IN.

Basic Qualifications :

The position requires at least a bachelor’s degree, or its foreign equivalent, in Industrial Management, Engineering (any), or a related field, plus at least five years of experience as a Project Manager, Industrial Engineer, or in a similar occupation engaged in the design and development of material handling equipment (MHE).

• 5 years of experience analyzing budgets for ongoing and new projects valued at over $1 million dollars; 3 years of experience engaging in strategic planning and collaborating with project management experts to develop a program for warehouse implementation and its supported equipment;

5 years of experience of supporting process improvement programs; and 5 years of experience using Project

Management tools, CAD and Drafting software applications.
