C G CONSULTING is Hiring a Legislative Analyst Near Washington, DC

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • This objective of this contract is to provide support in a number of different task areas to include: management and oversight of contract personnel; general communications support (internal and external); multimedia planning, development and execution; website support; legislative support and analysis; strategic communications and planning support; as well as surge efforts that may include symposium / conference logistics and execution; event and protocol support; and other efforts as required 

  • Provide subject matter expertise for defense policy and appropriation matters, advising senior leaders on the status of legislation, topics of Member interest and areas of potential impact to Navy programs and policies 

  • Develop tracking mechanisms to identify and document funding and language impacts to Navy programs and policies. 

  • Synthesize complex information into talking points, white papers and briefs for consumption by NAVSEA leadership. 

  • Provide subject matter expertise on defense budget and policy issues, identifying potential impacts and legislative engagement strategies required to achieve organizational and programmatic needs 

 
 
Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science.

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience analyzing and writing on federal congressional actions. Preferred five years’ experience in defense acquisition. 

  • Strong understanding of the enactment process for defense authorization and appropriation legislation

  • Working knowledge of the Navy’s PPBE process

  • Ability to review and analyze defense legislation for potential impacts to Navy programs and initiatives.

  • Familiarity with NAVSEA programs and initiatives

  • Ability to produce written documents for senior officials including briefing materials, legislative summaries, background papers and correspondence.
