Job Summary: The Systems Administrator - II works as part of the Systems Administration team which is accountable for the overall support and maintenance of server and data center architecture, systems analysis, and communications infrastructure. The Systems Administrator II is responsible for performing routine administration activities, such as monitoring performance, installing patches and systems upgrades, scheduling and running jobs. This is an intermediate-level job and is expected operate independently while executing mainly routine or straightforward assignments. Continues to demonstrate growth and learning in acquiring knowledge and experience with multiple operating environments.
Job Description: Major Responsibilities :
- Performs routine maintenance procedures as well as troubleshooting and repair of servers, applications, and related hardware and software (Windows server, VMWare, Active Directory , Azure Active Directory , M365, Exchange, GPO, DNS, DHCP, DFS, Citrix )
- Follows established policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks. Supports standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions across enterprise-wide hardware and software applications.
- Provides support to end users and IT teams by assisting with incidents and requests
- Participates in enterprise-wide disaster recovery testing
- Monitors system backups, replication, and server performance. May provide recommend ations for improvement
- Monitors system logs and monitoring systems to ensure proper functioning of server and security functions
- Represents the team on project s
- Participates in regular server patching and maintenance
- Participates in on-call rotation for after-hours support
Incumbent Attributes :
- B S/BA in a related field or equivalent experience typically required to complete all essential job functions
- 2 years of related professional work experience is required to complete all essential job functions.
- Microsoft certifications are a plus
- Candidate should have experience with Microsoft , PowerShell, Dell , and Cloud computing technologies
- Experience of and participation in the change process, attending change board as a service desk or service management representative
- Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and to collaborate with site leads to deliver against the organizations service goals in a deadline-oriented environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with organization and time management skills
