The key role of this position will be to help lead complete solar installs as well as perform service type work. Your work will primarily be solar-related installations & service, but you will assist with generator installations and/or other electrical jobs as needed. The position will require someone who is well organized and can manage multiple ongoing projects and tasks. The person in this position is someone who we can count on to complete work without active supervision. The position will include physical demands of working on steep rooftops and, lifting heavy equipment, and ensuring safe working conditions.

CDL is looking for someone who can continually learn new technologies, equipment, and methods to become an expert in solar energy.

Must live in the Pittsburg, KS or Joplin, MO area or within driving distance of our main office in Pittsburg, KS. Or must be willing to relocate. You will be working out of our main office in Pittsburg, KS.

Required Experiences:

• MUST have or be willing to obtain journeyman electrical license
• Having a NABCEP PV associate or board certification is a PLUS
• Knowledge of residential & commercial, single-phase & 3-phase electrical equipment, cabling, and installation methods
• Knowledge with solar equipment, modules, inverters, racking, and monitoring systems
• Knowledge of current national electrical codes
• Knowledge or experience with electrical drawings and site survey work
• Experience with proper use of fall prevention and fall restraint systems
• Good with time management, scheduling, and inventory management
• Good with technology, software, mobile apps, and computers
• Experience & knowledge with the following systems is a PLUS:
  o Enphase - IQ Microinverters, IQ battery, IQ system controller, IQ gateway
  o SMA – String Inverters, Commercial String Inverters
  o IronRidge, Unirac, & Sunmodo - ground & roof mount racking systems

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Planning for upcoming installations and creating material lists.
• Assist with creating and submitting material lists to equipment suppliers and placing orders.
• Counting orders for accuracy and/or organizing warehouse space and equipment.
• Contacting customers to communicate the schedule and going over the work to be completed.
• Performing detailed site surveys of structural dimensions and electrical equipment prior to installation.
• Performing all parts of solar installation including rooftop work, ground mount assembly, and all electrical wiring.
• Commissioning and activation of systems upon utility PTO.
• Actively learning and training on new equipment while looking for better ways to improve our overall quality of work and installation efficiency.
• Complete service calls for troubleshooting systems.
• Diagnose system issues, recommend equipment replacements, necessary repairs, and assist with completing service work orders.
• Assist with generator installations or service work when needed.
• Assist with electrical work orders when needed.
• A majority of jobs will be within our immediate service area; however some projects will require overnight travel. Approximately 25% of work will require overnight travel, but this will vary depending on specific work.
