Our current opening is for a Low Voltage Field Technician in our Springfield office. This is an entry level position in our Low Voltage Department. Candidates should demonstrate an applicable background in related fields, and/or desire to receive training and education in the Security and/or Fire Alarm industries.

• Installs, programs, and maintains a variety of low voltage systems to include: digital addressable fire alarm system, mass notification, IP video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, and other similar systems.
• Entry level candidates will assist a qualified Technician in performing a variety of tasks.
• Works closely with customers and other technicians to provide quality installation and service of above mentioned systems.
• Uses a variety of hand tools, testing equipment, and documented resources to install, diagnose, and repair units on and off of customer’s sites.
• Performs preventative maintenance, site surveys, replacement and modifications as needed or requested by customers.
• Documents work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files.
• Determines parts to order for repairs and timeliness of need.
• Provides technical support to customers.
• Maintains tools and equipment by inspecting for signs of wear.
• Travel is typically limited to a 2 hour radius around Springfield, with exceptions.
• Occasional overnight travel is necessary (approximately 10-15%)
• Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.

Requirements

• Education and Experience in related fields is desirable, but not required and training is available. 
• Experience with troubleshooting and/or inspecting any of the following is preferred, but not required: fire alarm, backflow prevention, sprinkler, fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, clean agent systems, security, access control, video surveillance, nurse call, intercom, IP networks, PLC. 
• The above list of expertise is representative of our Low Voltage Division. No applicant is expected to have experience in all areas. We will consider candidates for entry-level positions, and train the right candidate. 
• Valid driver’s license
• Final candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background investigation, including criminal and motor vehicle check.
