We are seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to join our team. The Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the safety of our workplace environment by implementing safety protocols and guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain accurate training records in accordance with OSHA regulations
  • Conduct assessments in collaboration with the operating departments
  • Manage the development and administration of training programs
  • Provide support and direction regarding the identification and assessment of continuous improvement opportunities within the training area
  • Ability to create training courses based on site needs
  • Develop teaching outlines and determine instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, meetings, and workshops
  • Excellent and demonstrated personal commitment to safety & health
  • Selects or develops testing and evaluation procedures to be used prior to and at completion of training
  • Audit and review all training courses for continuous improvement
  • Evaluate all training facilitators
  • Review SOPs with division management
  • Build and develop a competency-based training programs that ensure information is delivered in a manner that employees can retain
  • Continued review and trend analysis with Risk Mgmt.
  • Work with Risk Management for auditing training programs and materials
  • Maintain compliance of information control
  • SOP revisions for site (work with on-site contractors)
  • Conduct site hazard training
  • Work with Risk and HR to conducted new hire orientation and training
  • Evaluation of the current training and protocols
  • Assist with new training systems roll outs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of training experience in heavy industry experience required
  • Proven experience in working with peer groups and focus teams required
  • Ability to drive results and ensure completion of time sensitive deadlines required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Excellent leadership skills and knowledge of influencing others required
  • Ability to promote safety in training and lead by example required
  • Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook preferred.
  • Proven safe work record required
  • Conduct regular safety inspections to identify potential hazards
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes
  • Provide safety training for employees on various topics including first aid, OSHA regulations, and emergency response
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety activities
  • Prepare and present safety reports to management
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies such as EPA on environmental health and safety (EHS) compliance
  • Ensure compliance with workers' compensation laws

- Proven experience in safety management with knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Strong skills in root cause analysis and report writing
- Certification in CPR, First Aid, or willingness to obtain
- Familiarity with Workers Compensation laws and regulations
- Ability to fabricate training materials for safety programs
- Knowledge of environmental regulations from EPA is a plus

Pay: $77,799.00 - $84,286.00 per year
