Byrd Campbell P.A. a well-respected national firm with offices in Winter Park, Pensacola< Boston and Dallas, specializing in Complex Business Litigation and Commercial Real Estate, has an opportunity for an experienced paralegal for our Litigation department, comfortable working in a fast placed environment, interacting with high profile clients, and handling many complex matters simultaneously, for a firm well known for taking cases to trial far more often than most, and growing all the time.

Paralegals are a vital part of our team and a tremendous resource for our attorneys. We need a paralegal with the experience to actively assist with all aspects of the job, while consistently producing superior results, even under tight deadlines, pressure and an ever-changing environment.

The full list of requirements is too long to cover, but these are the necessities:

Thorough knowledge of legal concepts, processes, terms, and procedures;

Thorough knowledge of Florida and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure;

Thorough knowledge of the litigation process;

Thorough knowledge of court procedures, including Florida E-Filing (ECF);

Comfort with electronic filing in State and Federal courts, calendaring, and accurate proofreading;

Experience scheduling hearings, depositions, mediations, conferences, examinations, etc.;

Experience with the preparation of notices, pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery (traditional & E-discovery) in state and federal court matters and arbitration proceedings;

Excels at legal research and the preparation of materials, exhibits and documentation for depositions, examinations, hearings, and trials;

Remembers important things that others forget;

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products, and the ability to type quick and accurately.

Your Education and Experience:

Associate Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred, ABA Paralegal Certification highly preferred, however, incredible experience and professional competency is acceptable in lieu of education. We’re looking for someone with at least 5 years of paralegal experience in a similar environment, but we can work with less if you’re the right person. Of course, more is just fine with us too.
