By Light is hiring a Configuration Manager to join our team supporting a Department of Veterans Affairs software development project. The successful candidate will perform Configuration Management duties and offer excellent technical support. Develop and Implement the overall Software Configuration Management (SCM) plan, processes, procedures and tools.
• Administer and implement standard Software Management Tools such as ServiceNow, Git, GitHub and Jira Atlassian.
• Maintain and update CM documentation.
• Manage project configuration items within the various toolsets and oversees configuration management.
• Responsible to create and monitor the baseline of software and non-software configurable items; track and report activities and artifacts.
• Manage release activities for each build and handle scheduled and non-scheduled updates.
• Coordinate with the development team and WebLogic administrators on release readiness.
• Perform and support all activities related to configuration management (CM), including setting up source code control system software, administering the software, developing build tools/utilities and performing web application builds.
• Establish and manage working relationships across the VA organizations and within organizations to ensure VA Configuration Management Standards are implemented and maintained.
• Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve issues with Configuration Management activities, process and tool usage.
• Responsible to streamline work review process and maintain documentation.
• Schedule audits on CM database and assist in implementing audit recommendations.
• Perform and maintain version control, change control, baseline management and other task within the GitHub repositories.
• Prepare weekly Defect Reports and communicate outcome of the reports with the clients and team members.
• Provide Production support for weekend and after-hours releases.

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
• 10 years of experience coordinating project CM processes and activities with internal and external organizations.
• Strong background and experience in CM tools. Must have experience with the IBM Rational tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, team player.
• Experience validating software processes and products utilizing established quality assurance polices, plans and procedures.

• VA Identity and Access Management Identity Services experience.
• Understanding of software sustainment methodologies, concepts and software development environments.
• Understand development lifecycle management and able to perform CM and Quality audits.
• Experience participating in team peer reviews for technical and process evaluation.
