We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning, safety, and maintenance of our facilities and equipment. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with a strong mechanical aptitude and specifically, experience with HVAC, plumbing, troubleshooting kitchen equipment and basic carpentry. The correct person should be willing to travel to all Big Woods locations in Indiana on a regular basis as well as possible on-call rotation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Maintenance:

    • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs on equipment, and systems with a strong emphasis on HVACR as well as plumbing.

    • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to determine the cause of issues, develop a plan and execute repairs needed.

  • Facility Maintenance:

    • Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify maintenance as well as repair needs.

    • Address building maintenance issues such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.

  • Safety Compliance:

    • Ensure that all equipment and facilities meet safety standards and regulations.

    • Implement safety measures and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.

  • Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.

    • Create and update maintenance logs and documentation as required.

  • Parts and Inventory Management:

    • Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and spare parts.

    • Order and restock necessary supplies and parts as needed.

  • Emergency Response:

    • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.

    • Make repairs and take corrective actions to minimize downtime.

  • Collaboration:

    • Coordinate with other departments and vendors for maintenance projects and repairs.

    • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management regarding maintenance needs and progress.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification is a plus.

  • Experience with electrical, refrigeration, restaurant equipment repairs.

  • Experience in preventative maintenance and equipment installation.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and tools.

  • Experience in HVAC and plumbing

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various conditions.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • 1 years’ experience as a Commercial or Industrial Service Technician.

  • CFC/EPA Universal Certification is preferred but not required.
