The School Board of Petersburg City Public Schools (PCPS) seeks an outstanding educational leader to serve as Superintendent. The start date for the new Superintendent will be on or before August 1, 2024. PCPS is an equal opportunity employer.

DESIRED SUPERINTENDENT QUALIFICATIONS:

• The Petersburg City School Board seeks a forward-thinking, dynamic, instructional leader who can lead the development of our next Strategic Plan.
• The successful candidate will have a commitment to collaboration with the School Board, staff, and community.
• They will be visible throughout the schools and community, taking advantage of a positive working relationship between the School Board, City Council, and a supportive and engaged community.

• The successful candidate's salary will be regionally competitive. The final salary and benefits will be negotiated and determined based on proven experience, qualifications, and meeting School Board criteria.
• Applicants are required to hold or provide evidence of eligibility for the Virginia Division Superintendent License. Candidates are encouraged to obtain information about requirements for licensure from the Virginia Department of Education at www.doe.virginia.gov.

APPLICATION DEADLINE:JUNE 16, 2024

Letters of application and other required materials must be received by BWP & Associates no later than June 16, 2024. The Board expects to finalize the search by July 2024. It is anticipated that the new superintendent will officially assume this position on or before August 2024.
