Butterball, LLC is Hiring a Remote Foodservices Commodity Business Manager (K-12)

Job Summary:

The K12 Business Manager is responsible for administrating/managing all aspects of the bid/contract processes within K12Foodservice.This role includes bid/contract management of the K12 USDA Commodity Processing effort as well as other K12 commercial bids.This position will coordinate with the K12 National Program Manager to oversee the financials for this business unit to maximize revenue and margins.The K12 Business Manager executes the strategy set forth by Sales Management with processes and tools to drive sales growth for the K12 commodity processing and commercial sales channels.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • K-12 USDA Commodity Processing Business
    • Management of Commodity Processing Bids/Diversions/First Contracts
    • Includes Commodity Processing paperwork, tracking plant certificates, state agency agreements, WBSCM/1st Contract, etc.
    • Coordination of efforts with the broker bid/sales teams as required/needed on behalf of Butterball and other 3rd party resources (Lunchline, Processor Link/Bid Forge, Erebus)
    • Management of the K12 Tracking System for management of State and District diverted pounds (Processor Link) including draw down reporting and other related efforts.
  • Commercial K12 Bid Function
    • Management of K12 School Bids
    • Serves as administrator of Bid Forge Workflow portal and Interflex Bid Management/Bid Advantage Tools with pricing, programming, bid data reviews and mining the tools for bid opportunities.
    • Coordination and management of the broker bid/sales teams on behalf of Butterballto ensure proper information is completed prior to bid opening dates.
    • Including both direct to manufacturer and distributor bids
    • Establish/maintain tracking protocols for bid award/result data, obtain forecast on awarded bids and quarterly reviews of large bids for performance against plan.
  • K12 Business Support
    • Internal support of K12 National Program Manager and business unit
    • Research of competitive data and awards (public records) for pricing advice and award/opportunity tracking.
    • Support of K12 Food Shows and other events related as needed.
    • Coordination of K12 product line with Foodservice Marketing and R&D
    • Spec information, new/old product management, etc.
    • Provide volume and revenue tracking/history.
    • Assist in plan volume and revenue.

·Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • This position requires strong analytical/data and time/project management skills.
  • This position will be critical to the success of the overall K12 business, so expertise in all aspects of the trade must be mastered to drive this opportunity.
  • Must be a team player in support of sales strategies.
  • Partnership in the overall success of the segment

Education & Experience:

  • This position requires a college degree in Business or related field and/or equivalent work experience.
  • This position requires a minimum of 5 years of K12 related experience in a Bid/Contract, Program Administration, or Business Development role.
  • Bid and Data management experience are crucial aspects of this position.

Working Conditions:

·Work environment will be remote/home office based with most of the time working on the computer.Physical demands are that of a typical office environment.

·Travel will be less than 20% of time and related to K12 events like National Conferences, periodic local/regional shows.
