Butler Medical Providers is Hiring a BMS FRONT OFFICE COORD - BENBROOK GASTROENTEROLOGY BUTLER Near Butler, PA

Responsible to coordinate front office duties for site operations of the physician office. Assists Practice Administrator with patient schedule coordination for all providers. Obtains authorizations and referrals for patients requiring testing and specific medications. Responsible for EMR correspondence to provider related to patient care. Schedules and coordinates referrals from PCP’s. Assigns and coordinates front office duties of the PCA’s to include check in/out functions, patient scheduling and patient communication.

Education:
Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Completion of a Certificate/Diploma/Degree Program in a Healthcare related field

Registration/Certification/Licensure:
Act 33/73 clearances

Experience:
Minimum: One year experience in a physician office.
Preferred: N/A

    I. Specific Job Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

    • Obtains authorizations and referrals for patients from insurance payors following payor requirements and referrals and authorizations required by specialty companies for specific medications. Responsible to follow up on all insurance company appeals.
    • Responsible to coordinate front office duties including patient and chart preparation.
    • Assists Practice Administrator with maintaining patient schedules, monitors backlogs, and communicates with providers to ensure patient access is timely.
    • Communicates through the EMR to providers related to patient care and patient questions.
    • Reviews progress of authorizations with providers to obtain additional direction or clinical information to successfully obtain insurance authorizations. Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Completed mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes.
    • Completed annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.
    • Maintained license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.
