POSITION: Graphic Designer
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Graphic Designer works with the Marketing Manager to develop the graphic designs that enhance marketing tools, as well as interagency communications. The Graphic Designer must be able to work collaboratively with all agency departments and make strategic determinations as to the best medium for each individual project.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor degree in Graphic Arts preferred, or willing to obtain; Minimum of an
Associates Degree in a related field.
? Demonstrated graphic design and illustration skills. Experience or knowledge of videography.
? Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
? Experience working with diverse populations, communities and organizations.
? Able to use technology effectively to develop graphic designs including Adobe, Microsoft and Google suites.
? Working knowledge of math as it relates to artwork and or its placement.
? Demonstrates high level of dependability, initiative, and responsibility.
? Able to use a variety of communication methods to build relationships
? Openness and adaptability to change.
? Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
? Excellent organizational skills.
? History of excellent job attendance.
? Must pass criminal background check and be free from communicable diseases.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
? Work from initial concept to final production stages.
? Coordinate event logistics, publicity, including public relations, advertising and collateral material design, production and distribution.
? Collaborate with department supervisors to implement new and updated communications and assure consistency in marketing materials across all programs.
? Create and recommend marketing initiatives for the products and services of the organization and individual departments.
? Manage and deliver graphic projects within established timelines and budgets.
? Develop relationships with all media to ensure the most effective messaging and positioning of the organization.
? Develop design concepts and methodologies to produce high quality graphics.
? Manage and deliver graphic projects within established timelines and budgets.
? Produce graphics for logos, banners, marketing materials, website and other publications.
? Meets project commitments in an accurate and timely manner.
? Able to prioritize multiple projects, and ability to work under deadlines.
? Stay abreast with the latest developments in graphic industry.
? Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite with a focus in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign.
? Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
? Knowledgeable of both PC and Mac platforms.
? Actively participate and staff committees as necessary and appropriate.
? Maintain records and files as required.
? Continuously update and improve professional competence.
? Comply with state and federal regulations that pertain to the position (e.g. OSHA, OCR)
? Perform other tasks, consistent with the position, as may be assigned.
OTHER DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
  • To serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings.
? To help instill in students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of: Board policies and procedures, effective communication procedures, building policies and procedures, component plans, appropriate documentation and record keeping procedures, public relations, required local, state and federals reports, inventories, requisitions, emergency preparedness drills, effective conferencing techniques, district and community resources, current literature related to equipment maintenance.
Ability to: Interpret policies, rules and regulations, compile and prepare required reports, work successfully in a culturally diverse environment; collect and analyze date; communicate effectively, follow directions; remain flexible and adapt to all situations; effectively work in a professional environment and build relationships; prepare reports; follow emergency preparedness procedures; be mobile and lift a moderate amount of weight.
Skill in: Use of computer; copiers, projectors and poster machine.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED:
Computers and other customary office equipment.
ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Occasional: Exposure to severe weather, heat, attends functions or performs duties outside normal working hours. Exposure to heavy equipment, loud noise, blood, bodily fluids and tissue, irritating and hazardous chemicals, unruly children/adults, electrical hazards, and lift moderate amounts of weight up to 55 pounds.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year as established by the Governing Board. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non - prescribed controlled substance use in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Support Personnel.
STARTING DATE: As Soon As Possible
SALARY: $45,000-$60,000 based on experience and education
BENEFITS: Excellent benefits for all full time employees
WORK YEAR: Full Time – 220 Days
