Butch s Rathole & Anchor Svc is Hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator Near Hobbs, NM

Summary

Responsible for operations functions specializing in operating heavy equipment providing service to perform in a full-service construction arena which provides solutions to ensure continuous production consistent with established standards in support to the Company. 

Functional Responsibilities

  • Ability to follows instructions and perform as a team player
  • Pre-Trip and Post Trip responsibility to meet Company standards
  • Operate heavy equipment for road and pad construction jobsites
  • Control machine speed, direction, bucket height and bucket angle
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance such as inspection and fluid check
  • Notify management of any equipment or safety issues
  • Read and understand civil plan drawings
  • Work subgrade and base to achieve proper processing
  • Finish-grading for correct grade (blue-top and GPS)
  • Use GPS automatics for machine control
  • Coordinate daily project tasks between work crew members
  • Ability to sustain a 24/7 on call work environment
  • Maintains professional communication with the Internal and External Customers
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair and maintain rig equipment to meet quality standards
  • Must have ability to navigate and find locations off lease roads meeting ‘on time’ location requirements. 
  • Performs customer site clean-up prior to leaving location
  • Complies with Company Rules and Regulations
  • Participates in JSEA and Tailgate Safety Meetings 
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor

Education, Professional Licensure and Certifications 

  • Preferred High School/GED
  • Valid Driver’s License required which meets Company policy standards

Required Skills

  • Experience – One Year Minimum operating Heavy Equipment
  • Operate front-end loader, motor grader, dozer, roller, and other heavy equipment on project sites
  • Work includes road construction, pad building, excavation, truck loading, stockpiling and spreading materials.
  • Operate heavy equipment for road and pad construction jobsites
  • Control machine speed, direction, bucket height and bucket angle
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance such as inspection and fluid check
  • Notify management of any equipment or safety issues
  • Read and understand civil plan drawings
  • Work subgrade and base to achieve proper processing
  • Finish-grading for correct grade (blue-top and GPS)
  • Use GPS automatics for machine control
  • Coordinate daily project tasks between work crew members 
  • Language skills - Ability to read and comprehend simple oral and written instructions and effectively communicate/present information one-on-one or in small group situations.
  • Welding experience (preferred in some locations).
  • Mathematical skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Reasoning skills - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to handle problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations. 
  • Flexibility to work with different crews and to perform different aspects of the job

Required Knowledge 

  • Minimum one year experience required
  • Senior equipment operator position requiring a high level of skill
  • Experience in heavy equipment operation (required)
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Conscientious and safety-oriented behaviors
  • Experience in road and pad construction

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Possible Lead role depending on experience 

Physical Demands

  • This job requires frequent moderate to heavy work.
  • Employee will be exposed to outdoor weather elements to include extreme temperatures, high noise and the potential of chemicals and fumes or gasses.
  • Employee will stand or walk 50% of the time and frequently be asked to bend, squat, reach or climb.
  • Employee must be physically capable of lifting, pulling, pushing tools and equipment up to 50lbs in a safe manner.
