Job Overview:

The General Service Technician provides general services for vehicle maintenance and repair, such as oil changes, tire rotation and replacement etc. and does so in a safe, efficient and productive manner. Under the guidance of an Experienced Technician or Mechanic, the ServiceTech assist in vehicle repairs, operates vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, and interacts with customers in a courteous and friendly manner.

Duties:

 Change oil, change/rotate tires, and perform minor maintenance/repair tasks as assigned

 Expertly check all fluids and maintenance-related parts and top-off or replace fluids or filters/parts as required

 Possess an increasingly broad knowledge of how vehicles' complex components work and interact

 Perform routine visual inspections, test, change engine oil/filter, lubricate chassis, and other major components

 Drive vehicles in and around the premises as needed

 Adapt to rapidly changing technologies in the automotive industry, as well as in the diagnostics arena

 Perform routine vehicle servicing activities as directed

 Know and adhere to safety and environmental standards for maintenance/repair facilities

 Ensure that customers vehicles are kept clean.

 Keep shop area clean and be able to account for all company owned tools at all times.

 Understand and follow federal, state and local government regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.

 Road test vehicles to quality check work performed.

 Maintain a high degree of courtesy.

Requirements:

- Experience in automotive service or related field preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks
- Proficiency in tire services including rotation and alignment
- Knowledge of oil change procedures and products
- Strong customer service skills to interact effectively with clients
- Sales skills to recommend additional services or products
