Equipment Maintenance Helper for the Burbank Recycling/Material Recovery Facility location

Position Summary:

Perform inspections, cleaning, maintenance, and repairs of Material Recovery Facility equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Follow safe work practices and adhere to all safety rules and practices.
• Assist and support Equipment Maintenance team and activities.
• Perform inspections, cleaning, maintenance and repairs of Material Recovery Facility equipment not limited to balers, conveyors, screens, magnets, etc.
• Perform repair and maintenance of facility building and grounds
• Use hand tools and other equipment for the performance of these activities
• Use welder, torch, and grinder in the performance of their job
• Work in support of Equipment Maintenance team and independently on smaller jobs/tasks
• Timely and accurately document work performed on Fleetmate work orders
• Perform other repairs and duties as assigned by management.

• Be able to use hand tools, portable power tools, and other equipment as needed.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

• One (1) year previous equipment maintenance and repair experience, required
• Vocational school and/or training in equipment maintenance and repair, preferred
• Previous experience in the use of hand and small power tools/equipment.

PHYSICAL:

• Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel, for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Will be exposed to moderate noise and dust levels.
• Will work in outdoor areas and exposed to weather conditions—heat, cold, rain, and wind.
