As an Associate Counselor/Youth Community Support Specialist, you'll provide person-centered care, emphasizing personal strengths, skill development, and harm reduction. Your work will involve supporting individuals in their recovery efforts, collaborating with treatment teams, and offering a range of community resources.

This role is essential in helping individuals overcome mental health and substance use challenges in a supportive environment. You'll be part of a close-knit community, serving the unique needs of our small town, and have the opportunity to offer essential guidance and support to youth.

Key Responsibilities:

Person-Centered Care: Provide person-centered care to individuals, emphasizing their strengths and fostering skill development to support their journey towards recovery and wellness.

Treatment Team Collaboration: Collaborate with treatment teams to support individuals in their recovery efforts, ensuring a holistic and coordinated approach to care.

Case Management and Rehabilitation: Utilize case management and rehabilitation methods tailored to address mental health and substance use disorders, empowering individuals to achieve their recovery goals.

Community Resource Connection: Identify and connect individuals with local community resources, facilitating access to essential support services and enhancing their overall well-being.

Effective Communication: Maintain excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively support clients, ensuring clear and compassionate communication throughout the recovery process.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field (preferred)

Knowledge of case management and rehabilitation methods related to mental health and substance use disorders

Familiarity with local community resources and their availability

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Passion for helping individuals on their journey to recovery

Required License/Certification:

Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) or equivalent certification preferred

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and access to reliable transportation

Additional Qualifications:

Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse populations

Experience working with youth and families preferred
