Position: Machinist 3

Purpose: Correctly operate assigned machines to produce high quality parts while meeting or exceeding productivity expectations. Reports to designated supervisor or lead.

• Capable of running multiple machine types with little or no assistance.
• Able to run one machine to perfection with absolutely no help, and multiple machines if required.

• Ability to create setups by designing and making fixtures for a specific job.
• Can use any measurement device and needs no help inspecting parts.
• Understands tooling use and application; able to perform a tool test.
• Has a strong understanding of how tooling runs, with advanced knowledge of feed rates and spindle speeds.

Skills: Essential qualifications and functions gained through training and experience

• Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred, and additional 5 years applicable work experience.
• Previous manufacturing or machine assembly experience required (equivalent to a senior machinist at Burr Oak Tool).
• General computer skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to read and interpret engineering prints, including making accurate measurements.
• Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, and flexible.
• High energy level, comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities
• Ability to remain calm and determined to attain goals.
• Documentation of a current drug screen must be provided prior to start date.
