**Description**

The Energy Group global practice at Burns & McDonnell provides multidisciplinary approach to power solutions from project financing, siting and permitting to turnkey construction and startup. Our experience covers the full breadth of power generation technologies from gas turbines to solar, batteries, hydrogen, carbon capture and nuclear plant services.

We are seeking to hire an Energy Storage Technology Manager who will be responsible for leading, developing, and managing the technological advancement for energy storage systems within the Kansas City Energy Global Practice. The Technology Manager Energy will be responsible for the vision, innovation, management, performance, and deployment and updating of all valuable creative energy storage technology platforms utilized in the Global Practice. The Technology Manager will lead the department in a dynamic and profitable manner based on Burns & McDonnell's core values of client satisfaction, commitment, dedication, integrity, safety, and overall outstanding service. The technology manager will report to the energy storage Engineering Manager.

**Responsibilities:**

Develop relationships with key technology vendors.

Responsible for providing insight to management to assist with day-to-day operations of the department and to help set the overall direction of the department.

Manage development and execution of overall energy storage technology business initiatives to achieve goals and objectives.

Help manage, coordinate, log, maintain/update the Global Practice suite of software tools.

Provide technology and software direction and support the businesses and markets within the Global Practice.

Support sales proposals/efforts when clients request details on our technology capabilities

Responsible for strategic insight into the firm's ability to market technical services to clients. Lead efforts to increase the firm's market share for consulting services in the chosen area(s) of technology by securing additional projects and clients.

Interface with client counterparts for technology coordination.

Participate in key conferences and initiatives with our key technology providers and clients.

Direct proposal efforts and requests for qualifications to obtain projects. Present project budgets and estimates to management. Assist project teams to achieve stated targets and budgets to meet financial performance standards.

Direct oversight and management of technology budgets, costs, and lead times.

Develop and maintain technology strategies for global practice and/or regional office.

Maintain in-depth knowledge of technologies used to support assigned applications and systems.

Help maintain and troubleshoot software, systems, tools, and technologies.

Compile, implement and validate internal standards and technical specifications related to the area(s) of expertise.

Recruits, develops, trains, and retains outstanding employee-owners.

Responsible for conducting performance evaluations for selected departments or direct reports.

Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to the department.

Responsible for interpreting policies, purposes, and goals of the organization to employee-owners.

Ensures compliance with company and site safety policies.

Demonstrate a commitment to the division's Quality procedures.

Demonstrate a commitment to Diversity/Equity/Inclusion.

**Qualifications**

**Qualifications:**

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited program.

Minimum 7 years of experience in generating power including renewable energy or heavy industrial.

Minimum 3 years of experience in energy storage.

Previous leadership and/or management experience.

Experience with energy storage technologies and knowledge of how the technologies work.

Recognized as a technical resource internally to their company and externally to the industry for a process, equipment, or technology.

Demonstrated network of external colleagues and vendors within their chosen area(s) of expertise.

Experience in managing projects, proposal development, contract negotiations, project planning, design team coordination & communication, budgeting, schedule management, and client coordination.

Knowledge of project life cycle, including execution and delivery in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry preferred.

Experience implementing software tools.

Expert experience in client and business development.

Expert facilitation, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated success as to budget, savings and/or profit margins in completed projects.

Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead and manage.

Excellent planning and analytical skills.

Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
