We are looking for a Quality Control Manager to join our team! This position will be responsible for the establishment, maintenance, and administration of Quality Management Systems (QMS). Theideal candidate will have knowledge of ASME Code and heavy metal fabrication. The candidate should also have experience interpreting engineering drawings and electrical wiring diagrams. 

This is a full-time, exempt position located in Lancaster, PA. Hours are Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM. Hours of work required to accomplish responsibilities may include non-standard work hours including weekend hours as determined by business demands.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.Other duties may be assigned.

• Maintain and enforce safe work practices
• Train QC Inspectors and manage their daily activities
• Evaluate performance and set goals for QC inspectors
• Primary interface with third party Authorized Inspection personnel
• Quality lead for annual ASME Code reviews (CCI) and triennial National Board/ ASME Code reviews (CSB)
• Support production by timely generation and approval of process documents and scheduling of inspections to maintain workflow
• Interface between engineering and production on drawing and specification issues
• Coordinate nondestructive evaluation (NDE) functions for both in-house personnel and contracted services
• Establish, maintain, and administer the ASME Code compliant weld qualification program
• Manage the creation of required in process quality documents, including receiving inspection reports, and logging positive identification of ASME Code materials and parts
• Manage the creation of required end product quality documents, including National Board Data
• Reports and certificates of conformance
• Manage the ASME Code required nonconformance corrective action program
• Interface with material suppliers on quality issues and drive satisfactory resolution of issues
• Document returned materials (RMA reporting in Avante) and ensure that RMA items are accurately dispositioned
• Act as the primary quality resource for Customer Service and Sales functions
• Represents the Company in resolving quality issues with sales representatives and customers

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an engineering, science, or technology discipline: or an associate degree with five (5) years’ experience in ASME Code or heavy metal fabrication
• Working knowledge of fabrication and weld inspection processes. Certifiied Welding Inspector (CWI) a plus
• Experience in documented Quality Management Systems (QMS.) ASME Code compliant preferred
• Working knowledge of ASME Code, especially in fabrication of boilers and pressure vessels
• Working knowledge of metal casting processes and inspection, especially cast iron
• Working knowledge of engineering drawings in ANSI Y14.5 format
• Weld symbol knowledge and interpretation
• Working knowledge of nondestructive evaluation (NDE) techniques and application
• Machining experience and understanding of dimensional tolerancing
• Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams
• Experience in supplier quality assurance and customer interface
