We are seeking an NC Press Operator to join our team! This position will set up and operate the NC Machine using proper procedures as outlined in the computed program to punch and/or burn holes in metal. The ideal candidate will have previous machine operating experience.

This is a full-time, union-hourly position located in Lancaster, PA. Hours are Sunday, 10 PM – 6 AM; Monday-Thursday, 8:30 PM – 6 AM. 

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Set-up using computed program in accordance with orders
• Enter program number from routing sheet
• Check material for proper size
• Gather punches and dies with proper clearance
• Check program for latest revision and approval
• Transfer A.S.M.E. code markings as specified
• Do minor maintenance
• Change consumables, clean machine and empty water trough
• Do quality checks as required
• Recommend ordering tooling and consumables
• Attend all required meetings
• Required to fill out job cards, data sheets and reports accurately and legibly
• Follow program sequence in operation
• Check reference to align table relative to specifications tooling required as computed program specifies. Select tooling required as computed program specifics. Set clamps as required
• Inserting proper gauge and cut of steel, which is precut to comply with order. Keep alert on panel reading of controls for interference of clamps, tooling, etc.
• Moves material in and out of department as required
• May be required to operate powered truck and/or hand truck, if licensed
• Refers unusual problems to supervisor
• Work station must be kept clean and organized

Qualifications/Requirements:

• One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must have basic computer and N.C. skills
