**LOCATION** 1830 Route 130 North Burlington NJ US 08016 **Overview** If you want an exciting career with one of the largest, growing, off-price retailers in the nation, join the Burlington Stores, Inc. team as a **Senior Director Product Safety & Regulatory Compliance** **!** Burlington is seeking a **Senior Director, Product & Regulatory Compliance** , reporting to the Vice President, Assistant General Counsel that will develop and execute the strategic direction and management of all aspects of **Burlington’s product safety and global trade compliance program** . This role will be responsible to drive and enable ethical, responsible, and safe product sourcing and trade compliance excellence across the organization. This position is a blend of complex problem solving, strategic planning, and functional oversight. It requires an experienced professional who is comfortable with developing and implementing the strategic vision and leading day to day operations. Develop and execute the **strategic direction** and **global management of regulatory aspect** s of the company’s product safety and trade compliance program. Lead a team of 3 direct reports and 4 indirect reports. Ensure compliance planning/strategies are linked to the corporate vision and program effectiveness. Improve global trade compliance and product safety program and procedures that meet evolving regulatory changes. Ensure that all products purchased domestically or imported are manufactured, tested, stored and distributed in accordance with regulatory guidelines, company policies, standards and procedures and that they meet the requirements of domestic and international regulatory authorities. Drive expansion of the company’s product safety and quality expectations and standards that apply across all buying channels. Evolves the company’s food safety program (FSVP) and chemical management program. Develop criteria for ensuring responsible and ethical product sourcing standards are adhered to. Oversee and audit programs to assure compliance with all requirements aiming to avoid recalls or other regulatory sanctions. Regularly conduct country risk assessments to identify high risk countries, develop and implement a process for reducing risk in these countries. Develop vendor requirements and enhance the current vendor/factory compliance program. Drive corrective action as necessary to follow compliance measures. Manages relationships with NGOs and relevant industry organizations. Develop and manage strategic objectives for the overall social compliance program. Oversee and evolve the company’s partnership with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and continue our participation in Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT). The ideal candidate will have: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university required. 10 years’ experience in relevant trade, import and/or sourcing compliance role at large retailer/importer, required. 7 years of experience in international trade within a global organization including experience in a compliance related function for imports. Experience interacting with global custom authorities and other government agencies. Expert knowledge and understanding of global trade laws and regulations including those administered by CBP, OFAC or similar global regulatory agency requirements.
