The Pharmacy Technician position provides individuals with an opportunity to work in the retail pharmacy environment and in a role that positively impacts the lives and health of others. Pharmacy Technicians take important steps to ensure all medication needs and regulatory compliance standards are met for our patients.

A Pharmacy Technician includes being able to manage all assigned pharmacy workstations and tasks to support the team’s ability to promptly, safely and accurately fill patient prescriptions. In addition, technicians have the opportunity to provide customer service that goes above and beyond customer expectations. Retail pharmacy is a fast-paced work environment where you can demonstrate compassionate and genuine care for patients.

New Pharmacy Technicians will be provided with training to be successful in the pharmacy and will complete the required registration and licensing for the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician duties will be assigned by the pharmacy manager as you gain experience in the pharmacy. Pharmacy Technicians have the opportunity to expand training and continue to build your clinical knowledge. We provide the experience and opportunity to build your pharmacy career.

Duties:

- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications to patients
- Maintain inventory of medications and supplies
- Process medication orders and prescriptions accurately
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication therapy
- Utilize medical terminology to communicate with healthcare team members
- Prepare and compound medications in various forms

Preferred Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to learn medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient care interactions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, acute care environment

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Licensure requirements for South Carolina

Additional Qualifications

• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or equivalent experience
• Certification as a pharmacy technician (CPhT), PTCB National Certification

Previous Experience as a pharmacy technician is not required for this position. Training is provided to learn customer service and processes to be successful in the pharmacy.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
