Burgaflex North America is headquartered in Fenton, Michigan. We specialize in hose and tube assemblies for AC/heating lines servicing heavy trucks, agriculture, and construction vehicles.

Job Title: Cost Estimator

Department: Sales

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary

As the cost estimator you will be in charge of finding the correct cost to charge our customers for the product being purchased. You will do this by collecting and analyzing data to assess the time, money, materials, and labor required to manufacture the product. You will report directly to the Vice President of Sales.

Essential Functions

· Researching materials, equipment, and labor costs.

· Work with Account Managers to determine customer specific requirements.

  • Working with the procurement department, ensure component and material quotes are processed timely.
  • Analyzing company data, exchange rates and prices.
  • Entering quotations in customer portals meeting the required dates.
  • Monitoring the stages of a project to make sure that costs are kept in line with forecasts.
  • Perform other duties as necessary or appropriate to the position.

Education, and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • 1-5 years of experience in as a cost estimator or similar role.

Knowledge, Skills, and other Abilities

  • Experience with automotive preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs. Microsoft Dynamics- Great Plains experience a plus
  • Demonstrate initiative and can work independently to achieve solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and be proactive in efforts to ensure requests and tasks do not fall behind.
  • Exhibit impeccable professionalism with all levels of the Burgaflex team.
  • Excellent organizational skills, project management and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with a team.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to manipulate, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stand; talk and hear; walk; sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and lift or move up to fifteen (15) pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral visions, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

The incumbent works primarily in an office environment, sitting for prolonged periods at a desk with a computer. While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents, analyze and solve problems, use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or new skills; work under deadlines and constant interruptions; interact with staff and other organizations; and frequently deal with dissatisfied or quarrelsome individuals.
