Location: Washington, D.C., New York or Chicago (hybrid)

Must be able and willing to be on-site 3 day a week

The Impact You Will Make

In this role, you will run our information technology function, driving both overall strategy and implementation and supporting our 200 employees in a hybrid work environment. You’ll also oversee support for endpoints, cloud services, 3rd party applications, and network account management. This job is also hands on day to day operations. Using your troubleshooting expertise you will supervise an IT Support Manager to help manage our help desk ticketing process, triaging, and supporting work tickets submitted by team members. No problem is unfixable and your perseverance to solve even the most complex IT issues help support a fast paced working environment. Your project management skills will keep everything in working order as well as maintaining the inventory, distribution and return of company technology assets. Your top notch customer service shines through when interacting with colleagues and working with tech partners making you a valuable Ops team member.

What the Day-to-Day Looks Like

  • IT Leadership Manage IT team, currently one direct report, and ensure staff are trained on current and legacy systems, security, compliance, inventory, maintenance, and IT ticket management with an eye toward professional development. Review policies and procedures and maintain an open communication with your team to ensure consistency, accountability and service. Maintain ongoing formal relationships with IT vendors as well as work with the Director of Contracts on any new or renegotiated contracts.
  • Security and Risk analysis Assist executive leadership in maintaining SOC 2 compliance. Lead internal IT efforts to maintain and improve on industry standard best practices.
  • Oversee IT Tickets Oversee the flow/urgency of IT tickets within Slack and Jira and take direct action on escalated needs. Assess common requests for potential proactive actions.
  • Overall Tech Strategy. Take charge of long-term project planning for the IT department that balances the computing needs of Security, Functionality, and Usability.
  • Project Management Track the progress of large scale, multi-step efforts. Push these projects forward on a detailed level while providing clearly summarized upstream reporting for ongoing efforts. Oversee, maintain and report on all software and hardware budgets to include yearly forecasting and cost saving projections.

What You Bring

  • 6-8 years of IT managerial experience in a Mac and Windows support environment
  • Expert in Apple computer troubleshooting for predominantly Mac user base
  • A start-up like mindset to build and fix and grow the team with agency growth
  • Kandji/Jamf or other macOS device management experience
  • Working knowledge of bash scripting to support macOS device management
  • Office 365, Gmail Workspace, and Slack administration experience
  • Experience with IT ticket management in Jira, Zendesk, ServiceNow or similar
  • monday.com, Zoom, Dropbox, and Netsuite sysadmin experience preferred
  • Basic DNS and Network management
  • Experience with SOC 2 and/or NIST compliance requirements.
  • Outstanding project management, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well with all levels of clients and team members across 4 offices in the U.S. and across 3 timezones.
  • Self-motivated and can work independently
