Bullis School is Hiring a Lacrosse - Upper School Varsity Head Coach Near Potomac, MD

The Bullis School Athletic Department is looking to hire a qualified Head Varsity Coach for our Girls' Lacrosse Program. This is a part-time, seasonal position, paid through a stipend, and is not benefit-eligible. The person in this role will work with student-athletes in an environment with high academic expectations. Upper school practices run from Monday to Friday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m and weekends. Game times extend beyond our practice times.

The Head Varsity Girls Lacrosse Coach will be responsible for leading and developing the lacrosse program, which emphasizes player development, competitive success, and fostering a positive team environment. Responsibilities include coaching, game strategy and analysis, recruitment, and compliance with ISL league standards.

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree and have significant experience in coaching lacrosse at the high school or collegiate level. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential to motivate and engage students. A commitment to sportsmanship, teamwork, and student character development is paramount.

The 23 different interscholastic programs of 43 teams are formed according to ability, and most programs include varsity and junior varsity squads. Varsity teams strive to compete at the highest levels, emphasizing sportsmanship and teamwork. At the junior varsity level, success in competition is encouraged, while skill building and participation are the primary goals. Our girls teams compete in the 6-member Interstate Athletic Conference (IAC).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide the personal development of each student-athlete on the roster.

  • Organize, communicate, and execute daily practice plans.

  • Prepare and condition athletes.

  • Lead game day equipment preparations and set up

  • Coordinate with Athletics to create social media content

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree preferred

  • Coaching and playing experience preferred

  • Willingness to attend professional development workshops.
