Bulk Environmental & Industrial is a fast-growing leading professional transportation and logistics services company providing long-haul transportation, collection, and loading of waste and other materials.

JOB SUMMARY:

As the General Manager, you will be responsible for leading and growing the Operations team. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work directly with executive leadership to develop and execute strategies to optimize existing operations as well as continue growing the company. This includes optimizing the current company-owned fleet and independent carrier relationships, developing a system of KPIs to measure ongoing performance, supporting sales & marketing efforts of the Company to grow existing and new customer accounts, and interface with other operational functions of the company including safety, maintenance & repair, HR, finance and legal in day-to-day operations

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Work with VP of Operations to support daily operational targets for business with frequent interaction across functions and various levels of the organization.

· Manages and schedules all employees at the designated terminals.

· Establish measurable goals, metrics, and KPIs for the fleet and report internally and externally to stakeholders on a regular basis.

· Plan, organize, direct, and control activities related to the logistics and operational functions involved in delivering customer needs.

· Makes hiring decisions for operators in the terminals.

· Perform disciplinary action meetings and write up employees when necessary.

· Manage a team of employees that include Drivers, Operators, Custodians, and Tarpers.

· Inspect heavy equipment to ensure it is working properly.

· Ensure safety guidelines are being followed correctly.

· Maintain relationships with clients and plant managers. Resolve any grievances they may have.

REQUIREMENTS:

· 7 years of transportation

· 5 years of management experience

· Bachelor’s degree required.

· A deep understanding of logistics and transportation companies with multiple divisions or service lines.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Knowledge of multiple systems such as Microsoft Office Suite, ERP software, and logistics software.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

· Unwavering commitment to compliant and ethical business practice

· Knowledge of terminal operations.
