Job DescriptionJob DutiesMig and tig welding, including the following : Create quality welds according to blueprints (weld symbols).

Inspect welds for accuracy.Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping and cutting steel / aluminum parts.

Change wire, welding, as needed.Change gas tanks, as neededLay out, position align and fit components together using applicable machines, tools and equipmentBolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure them in position for final weldingSet up and weld parts using welding equipmentMaintain sufficient knowledge of geometry, arithmetic, structural design, heat effects and allowances for thickness of metal to project locations of holes, cuts and bends from blueprints, written and typed instructions and manufacturer's specs.

Use hand tools and be able to correctly set up and operate applicable shop machines.Perform arc and oxy-acetylene welding, cutting and brazing on various ferrous and nonferrous metals, in accordance with established methods and procedures.

Qualifications : High school diploma / GED preferredexperience operating as a commercial welderCurrent and valid certification a plusWelding School a plusAbility to read blueprintsMust pass Grant Prideco Welding test
