Do you possess expertise in contract negotiation and administration? Are you acquainted with experience in aerospace/defense manufacturing or other highly regulated environments?

Centennial is seeking a Project Manager with subsurface (submarine) experience for a privately owned manufacturing company in Cincinnati, Ohio. Our client functions as an integrated part of the teams within Aerospace and Defense customer base. They specialize in solving intricate fabrication, machining, and assembly challenges, delivering resilient manufacturing solutions for their mission-critical programs.

The ideal candidate will assume responsibility for the successful execution of all stages in the project life cycle for assigned projects. They will coordinate and lead project teams and external customers in planning and executing projects within an established project management framework.

This person will report to the Vice President of the Project Management Office (VP, PMO).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strong Leadership of a cross functional team
  • Ability to manage complex portfolios and bills of materials
  • Familiarity with Subsurface program management
  • Lead project teams for successful execution, including providing direction and priority to the functional teams
  • Manage full life cycle of projects, including: project planning, definition, design, development, testing, implementation, execution and closeout
  • Collaborate with project team members to:
  • Ensure project objectives are met within the established cost, schedule and scope requirements.
  • Identify project constraints, and develop and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Develop, review, approve and implement (within prescribed guidelines) changes to project scope, cost and/or schedule
  • Lead or facilitate production meetings, project steering committee meetings, and phase gate meetings, as required
  • Inform executive management of significant project status changes and, if applicable, recommended corrective actions
  • Regularly brief project status to the Senior Leadership Team, including financial, schedule, risk, quality, technical and customer satisfaction
  • Work with the functional managers to ensure all project activities are up-to-date, conduct what-if analysis, and improve project throughput
  • Collaborate with the other Project Managers and functional area managers to identify and eliminate scheduling and resource conflicts between competing projects
  • Maintain a high sense of urgency and “can-do” attitude in all areas
  • Facilitate customer relationships, internal improvement projects and technical problem solving

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Associate’s degree in business or engineering technology degree required
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, business or related technical field or equivalent education and experience preferred
  • Minimum of seven years’ experience in engineering, manufacturing, or technical field with 5 years’ experience in project/program management of technical projects
  • Effective communicator at all levels of the organization and with customers, both in writing and in person
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and clarify complex information qualitatively and using software tools (i.e., Excel or MS Project)
  • Experience in aerospace/defense manufacturing, or other highly regulated environments
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Formal project management education (PMP, CPM, etc.), a plus
  • Experience with contract negotiation and administration, a plus
