Roadside Lumber & Hardware is seeking a Staff Accountant to run the accounting function. The role reports to the General Manager, oversees the full P&L and collaborates with the finance team at Building Industry Partners.

The Staff Accountant will perform and drive the borrowing basis, month end close, bank reconciliations, and payroll.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Reviews weekly borrowing base, cash flow, and remits the reports to the private equity group.
• Completes month-end and year-end close by reviewing work papers and drafts and assisting with the preparation of documentation and reconciliations, when necessary.
• Administers, reviews and approves payments/ACHs, including payroll.
• Administers and manages accounts payable and receivable.
• Supports external auditors and tax professionals by preparing supporting schedules and providing the requested information to complete the annual audit and necessary federal, state, and local tax filings.
• Assists with the development of budgets, forecasts, and strategic financial models.
• Prepares various financial reports as needed and builds dashboards to help the management team develop and execute financial and operational strategies.
• Works on special projects and analysis, as needed.

Our Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 2 years of experience in a corporate accounting or auditing.
• Strong operational accounting and finance skillset with a solid understanding of accounting close cycle and underlying processes and concepts.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficient in accounting systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint).
• Highly organized and detail oriented with capability to complete complex assignments with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work with people across multiple operating companies, departments, and geographies.
