Building Blocks Early Learning Center is Hiring an Assistant Childcare Director, Guaranteed Paid Time Off Near Stamford, CT

We are seeking an Assistant Director to join our team in Stamford, CT - Camp Ave. The Assistant Director supports maintaining center operations and occasional classroom coverage. This role helps oversee the center's function, operation, and leadership. The position requires the ability to support the day-to-day operations of a high-quality Early Childhood Education program. The Assistant Director will have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and a passion for nurturing children and their families.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 20 years’ of age, and: 
  • Obtained a high school diploma or equivalent and 1,080 hours of documented, supervised experience and 12 credits in ECE or child development from approved program
  • OR 4-year college degree in ECE or child development from accredited institution and 360 hours of documented, supervised experience
  • Working towards or meets NAEYC and or OEC requirements. 
  • Open to exploring and completing requirements to further education in early childhood education. 
  • Actively exhibit a passion for early education and an enthusiasm for learning
  • Demonstrate kindness and respect for self, others, and our community at large
  • Subscribe to play-based learning approach and importance of social-emotional learning
  • Deliver required paperwork and lesson plans on time and to completion
  • Display excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Adapt to change easily
REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to work both opening and closing shifts
  • Able to work 40 hours per week or more based on the needs of the school
  • Knowledge and ability to work with children ages ranging from three months to 12 years
  • Adhere to all Connecticut Public Health and Child Care Regulations
  • Authorize state-required background check
  • Act as mandated reporter both on and off-campus
  • Collaborate with staff to help ensure classroom environments that adhere to NAEYC’s Anti-Bias Early Education
  • Be capable of standing, moving, running, and playing for the majority of the day
  • Be capable of easily lifting up to 30 pounds multiple times a day
  • Complete mandatory state safety training and maintain the required annual training hours as required by the state of Connecticut
