Building Blocks Children’s Center (BBCC) located in McGaheysville, Virginia, is a non-profit, Christian based, licensed day care center for infant to pre-kindergarten age children. We are seeking a compassionate, self-motivated, dependable, and enthusiastic part-time or full-time instructional aides (“teacher aide”) for the center. The hours may vary. Our center is open 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The starting hourly rate is $12/hour, but prior experience will be taken into consideration. The applicant must meet the following licensing requirements:

• Minimum of 16 years old (preference may be given by the center to 18 years old or older)
• Pass a background check.

Basic Job Duties:

• Assisting the teacher in planning and implementing the daily lesson and activities
• Maintain open communication between lead teacher, director, and parents/guardians (including recording child's daily health and activities).
• Interacted with children. For example by playing, talking, and or singing
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain professional attitudes, behaviors and dress at all times while on duty.
• Help children with their lunches, preparation of snacks, and any other daily cleaning.
• Changing diapers and helping with toileting for children who are potty training.
• Must accept direction from and cooperate with the lead teacher, director, and fellow employees.
• Work both individually and as a team member with people of diverse educational, ethic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds including children, parents, BBCC Board of Directors, staff and general public.
• Participate in staff meetings and other required trainings.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 – 40 per week
