The Job:

The Database Administrator will keep our database up and running smoothly 24/7. The goal is to provide a seamless flow of information throughout the company, considering both backend data structure and frontend accessibility for end users.


What You Will Do:

  • Build, manage, and performance tune SQL Server database systems of high performance, availability, and quality to handle application traffic
  • Design and implement databases in accordance to information needs and views
  • Use high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data
  • Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses
  • Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users
  • Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
  • Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
  • Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required
  • Participate in on-call rotation with team
  • Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
  • Plan growth and changes (capacity planning)
  • Assist in continuous deployment procedures


Who You Are and What You Need:

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or related field required.
  • Proven working experience as a SQL Server Database administrator, preferably with high volume enterprise applications
  • Strong understanding of SQL Server 2014 internal architectures, configuration and performance best practices, and interaction with underlying hardware to highly tune environments.
  • Excellent knowledge of cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture concepts
  • Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding
  • Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third-party tools
  • Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically
  • BS degree in a computer discipline or relevant certification
  • Familiarity with .NET programming languages database interaction a plus
