PURPOSE:
Provide clerical assistance to the Collection Department. Answer phones, process correspondence, and maintain accurate files. Contact member to determine the reason for the past-due condition of a loan. Make recommendations on actions that should be taken if loan collateral is in jeopardy, reporting to the supervisor.
DUTIES AND REPSONSIBILITIES:
· Process all correspondence for the collections department, ensuring accuracy of work.
·Maintain collection files according to department procedures.
· Input data into the credit union’s collection system and generate reports as requested.
·Respond to telephone calls regarding payment notices and delinquent accounts.
· Mailing of payment notices, ensuring that credit union errors are detected promptly and corrected.
· Provide members with a complete explanation of the loan’s status as requested.
· Follow up on delinquent loans by making calls for payments.
· Maintain a detailed written record of all communications made regarding the delinquency.
· Process collection mail items (restraining notices, levy’s, information subpoena’s).
· Process and run checks daily.
· Perform skip tracing duties as required and directed.
· Process paperwork for Attorney’s office.
· Market and cross sell all credit union products and services to the membership.
· Responsible for checking and reading communications daily for memos and email on our network.
· Responsible to read and be knowledgeable about all credit union policies and procedures.
