    We are looking for a passionate and empathetic professional to join our excellent team of school psychologists.
    Whether you are looking to get started in the field as an intern or go after a mid-career change, District 877 offers the opportunity to engage on a deeper level with meeting the needs of students, families, and teachers.
    School Psychologist job activities include:
    Cultivating relationships and working toward a deeper understanding of barriers to each student’s academic, emotional, or social needs.
    • Provide crisis prevention and response on a continuing and as needed basis.
    • Participate and guide data collection and tiered intervention implementation as part of a Child Find team process.
    • Consult and collaborate with teachers, parents, and caregivers to promote students’ academic achievement, positive behavior, and mental health
    • Evaluate students to determine need and eligibility for special services and supports.
    • Administer culturally appropriate psychological assessments as part of an interdisciplinary team of professionals.
    • Prepare evaluation results reports and provide options for actionable recommendations based on evaluation results.
    • Participate in District-supported professional development throughout the school year.
    • Support intervention teams at various levels as needed, with a commitment to evidence-based practices, and data-based decision-making within an ever-evolving Multi-Tiered System of Supports.
    • Provide support and advocacy for diverse and marginalized youth and students with disabilities.
    • Promote the safety and well-being of all students in our schools through daily dedication to the compassionate, child-centered application of best practices.
    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Facilitate the coordination of pulling staff together and then the discussion for addressing the needs of at-risk students in intervention planning process
    • Complete standardized and non-standardized assessments as part of student’s Special Education evaluations
    • Compile information from all elements of the evaluation to summarize the data and discuss student eligibility, as well as identify student needs that will drive their IEP
    • Participate in IEP meetings, as requested by case managers, for support related to behavioral needs or other related concerns.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Knowledge & background with due process requirements
    • Experience with completing standardized assessments (i.e., cognitive, behavior rating scales, adaptive measures, etc.)
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Strong writing skills
    • Strong communication skills
    • Strong collaboration skills
