Schedule: 5 days / week (Monday - Friday), 8 hours / day, 12 months / year Hours: 6:00am – 2:30pm or as assigned (hours & break hours may vary) Pay Schedule: According to Master Agreement JOB SUMMARY: Participates in maintaining and repairing and oversees all building and grounds systems, to provide a clean, safe and comfortable environment for students, staff and visitors. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 80% Install/Maintain/Repair
Minor, routine, and major HVAC, plumbing, vehicles, power equipment, and electrical repairs and preventative maintenance.
General and major repair of all school facilities and equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance of facility systems and custodial/grounds equipment.
8% Grounds
Perform basic grounds upkeep including snow removal, mowing and trimming, and spreading salt.
5% Cleaning/Upkeep
Clean, scrub, mop, dust, vacuum or sweep floors, stairs, classrooms, kitchens, gyms, locker rooms, libraries, offices, commons, hallways, restrooms and other designated areas.
Respond to emergency cleanup situations.
Keep the custodial/maintenance rooms and shops clean and well maintained. Restock shelves with supplies.
Maintain building security: secure building, lock and unlock buildings, as necessary and perform other security tasks.
5% Program Responsibilities
Monitor and execute work order schedule based on timing of need, facility use, and personnel schedules.
Ensure that all safety standards are met in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements.
Submit requests for repair of equipment after troubleshooting/attempting repair
Coordinate maintenance, repair, and construction with outside contractors and vendors.
2% Meetings/Trainings
Attends meetings and trainings as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested. WORK REQUIREMENTS AND CHARACTERISTICS: Education/Certification/Licensure Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Second Class Boiler’s License within 12 months of hire.
Certified Pool Operator License within 6 months of hire
Valid driver’s license.
Experience:
Previous related experience required.
Essential Skills Required to Perform the Work:
Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to employ proper lifting techniques.
Ability to manage email, work order system software, electronic timesheet, and HVAC system software.
Ability to effectively communicate in written and oral formats with District staff and community members
Organizational and time management skills including prioritizing duties to meet deadlines.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job..
Ability to follow all health and safety practices.
Ability to follow established routine with ability to vary sequence of duties as needed.
Mechanical repair abilities.
Knowledge of applicable district policies/procedures.
Machines, Tools, Equipment, Electronic Devices and Software Required:
Operates hand tools, pallet jack, desk/table movers and ladders.
Operates grounds equipment including snow removal equipment, lawn mower, and other maintenance equipment.
Operates cleaning equipment including carpet cleaners and floor machines.
Operates computer, hand held radio, and district phone system.
Operates work order system software
Operates HVAC system software.
Supervision of Other Employees:
This position does not provide supervision or provide work direction to any other District employees.
Physical Job Requirements:
Position involves lifting, walking, pulling, stooping, climbing, crawling and kneeling.
Position involves extended periods of time on feet.
Position involves frequent lifting up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts 75 – 100 pounds.
Position involves occasional climbing of ladders.
Position involves occasional repetitive motion & hand dexterity in performing tasks.
Position involves listening, speaking clearly and visual acuity.
