We're looking for dedicated people with a "CAN-DO" attitude. Buddy's Home Furnishings was founded in 1961 and is a Lease Ownership Company that provides quality brand name products such as consumer electronics, appliances, computers, furniture and accessories to customers to help enhance their quality of life. Buddy's engages in the lease of household durable goods to consumers on a lease-to-own basis. It operates through 300 stores across the country.

Position Summary

The Credit Manager performs a wide variety of job functions at the direction of the General Manager, assisting and coordinating store activities to ensure safe, professional and profitable operations. The Credit Manager is accountable for meeting company objectives; maintain company quality standards and adhering to company policies.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Acquire and Maintain Customers
  • Act as a customer liaison who resells the benefits of timely rental/lease agreement renewal payments
  • Assist in managing store personnel; may direct activities of one or more employees
  • Compliance with all applicable federal, state and local statutes
  • Decipher, prepare and review store reports
  • Document all customer commitments
  • Ensure company standards for renewals, delinquencies and store collections are satisfied
  • Fill out paperwork for submission to corporate support
  • Follow monthly marketing plans and maintain internal quality control standards
  • Manage customer accounts
  • Managing inventory and cash assets
  • Prepare daily work schedules, delivery schedules, assign tasks, enforce company policy
  • All other duties deemed necessary for effective store management

Requirements for Credit Manager

  • Effective organizational skills
  • Established collection skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Handle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Learn and become proficient in POS system
  • Maintain professional appearance
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in person and over the phone with employees and customers
  • Negotiate and resolve conflict
  • Plan, organize, delegate, coordinate and follow up various tasks and assignments
  • Recognize and solve problems
  • Must have proficient navigational skills with a satisfactory driving record and meet insurability requirements
  • Regular and consistent attendance, including nights and weekends as business dictates

General Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 year total combination of education and/or experience providing the necessary skills and knowledge are acceptable.
  • Ability to work Monday through Saturday between the hours of 8am and 9pm
  • Overtime may be required
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (MVR)
  • Ability to successfully pass company background check, substance abuse test, and acceptable reference check from previous employers

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
