BUCKEYE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT is Hiring a 22-23 Playground Aide 3.25/hrs @ BES Near Buckeye, AZ

  1. All Instructional Assistants may provide services in regular classrooms, ESL, special needs, side-by-side or other special education settings..
  2. All Instructional Assistants may have duties in playground supervision, lunchroom and lunch area supervision, lavatory supervision, bus area supervision, and in transportation of district students as required.
  3. Assist instructional supervisor in group and individual student assistance with curriculum work, special projects, language acquisition and other required special needs.
  4. Assist in maintaining control and order in the classroom and in duty areas.
  5. Provide clerical type services as needed, i.e., typing, copying, filing, correcting papers, recording scores, etc.
  6. Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the classroom for student use.
  7. Assist in the closure of the classroom during periods when school is not in session.
  8. Perform assignments and duties as required to meet the personal care and non-medical health-related needs of students with special needs.
  9. Provide appropriate translation services as needed.
  10. Assist instructional supervisor with control and instruction on field trips and in other extra-curricular activities.
  11. Assist instructional supervisor in helping students in acquiring fluency in English.
  12. Provide activities which offer students additional opportunities to improve language, academic, and/or social skills.
  13. Monitor student activities at the duty stations and keep the students safe and well cared for.
  14. Submit reports to supervisors as needed regarding incidents requiring disciplinary action at any duty station or in the classroom.
  15. Move about as needed to observe activity and to maintain safety, order and control at all duty stations.
  16. Assist in all safety programs, drills and evacuation proceedings as required.
  17. Report to your instructional supervisor and/or school health center personnel all student medical and safety issues which you observe.
  18. Attend classes, in-services and seminars as needed to improve knowledge and skills and to keep current with the latest in services, equipment, materials and functions as it pertains to the district’s needs.
  19. Perform all duties and assignments and use materials and operate equipment in a safe and responsible manner, using all safety equipment or clothing which might be reasonable to ensure the safety of self, fellow employees and students.
  20. Perform emergency tasks as needed and directed.
  21. Assume responsibility for and secure the district assigned keys which are assigned to you for your job use and safekeeping.
  22. Listen to, understand and carry out oral and written instructions and directives, and respond with oral and written reports as required.
  23. Maintain good personal cleanliness and dress appropriately for the position.
  24. Practice good public relations techniques with students, staff, administration and parents, demonstrating a cordial and friendly manner.
  25. Work efficiently and cooperatively with other staff members.
  26. Practice regular and consistent attendance, arriving and departing at the designated times for your position.
  27. Refrain from the use of inappropriate, obscene or foul language.
  28. Maintain in good condition and store for safekeeping all property, supplies and materials of the district.
  29. Maintain district security by locking all doors and gates for which you are responsible, being on campus only during reasonable hours, and reporting to the Head Custodian, Director of Maintenance, Business Manager or Superintendent any problems with locks, lighting, windows, utilities, etc.
  30. Assist in keeping the district campuses clean and orderly.
  31. Perform other duties as assigned by the assigned supervisor, Principal, Assistant Principal, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction or Superintendent.

  4. 3.25 hours a day = 16.25 hours a week, 
  5. Personal/sick leave accrual after 60 day probation period
