The Commercial Analyst role is a critical member of the commercial team, and will support the analytical reporting, planning and scorecarding needs of the commercial team. This individual is a critical contributor to topline and bottom line growth through their actionable analysis, insights and recommendations. This role will apply analytical rigor to our commercial strategies and tactics, and will have the opportunity to continuously improve our reporting and strategy processes.

Commercial Analyst Job Responsibilities: 

• Build, report, and continuously improve commercial performance scorecards to help key stakeholders manage the business
• Report execution against commercial AOP, identifying issues and opportunities
• Use multiple data sources, including syndicated data (SPINS / IRI) and depletions data (VIP) to identify retailer and distributor-specific performance and opportunities
• Build and maintain commercial databases to facilitate vendor setup, item setup, and retailer planogram rollouts
• Build and implement trade spend, budgeting, and forecasting tools
• Develop, report on and continuously improve innovation scorecards
• Provide insights into category and competitive trends to deliver insights and recommendations on merchandising, assortment, pricing and promotion to accelerate business results
• Support the development of key internal and external commercial presentations
• Continuously develop, refine and improve analytical tools and reporting to drive efficiencies and accelerate growth

Skills and Qualifications: 

• Naturally curious, with attention to detail, you have the ability to mine extensive data, simplify into insights, risks, opportunities and recommendations, and tell a concise and compelling story using the data
• You have Excel expertise, and are proficient in Word and PowerPoint
• You are proficient with Salesforce, SPINS, IRI and VIP tools and data
• You have the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously
• You are driven for success and career advancement, and take the initiative to identify and take ownership of additional ways to improve business results

Commercial Analyst Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business
• 2 years relevant work experience, ideally with prior experience in CPG commercial analytics
• Experience working with syndicated data and depletions reporting tools
