IRM/OPS/MSO/MD and MT employ agile practices to effectively develop and deliver Products that meet the needs of the Department. Following Scrum principles, our Product Teams strive to deliver the most valuable products and capabilities to our customers in the least amount of time. While this is our guiding principle, our teams are also held to federal mandates and regulatory compliance requirements that require careful planning, controls, and analysis. MD seeks a Project Coordinator who will collaboratively work alongside the Product Owner and Scrum Master to effectively perform project management and strategic planning responsibilities that fall outside of Scrum, enabling the Product Team to focus on development and delivery.

The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, is detail oriented and organized. The individual will have proven experience effectively managing projects and, ideally, has worked within or alongside Agile teams, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal and external teams to proactively plan for budget allocations and resource needs from fiscal year to fiscal year
  • Develop written justifications in response to a dynamic budget environment to detail impacts of surplus or shortfalls to Product roadmap and resources
  • Work across bureaus within DOS to understand strategic goals and build strategic plans
  • Identify alignment with and progress towards goals, objectives, key performance indicators, and overall business value
  • Inform priorities based on customer input, federal mandates, and Department directives
  • Lead risk management for the Product Team(s), to include risk identification, responses, monitoring, resolution, and/or escalation
  • Work with internal and external teams to inform risk assessments and escalate items requiring action or coordination
  • Support taskers from leadership including but not limited to budget and strategic planning
  • Lead risk management activities to effectively manage risks to the Product
  • Serve as a secretariat for the steering committee by building out the presentation template, assist in populating the slides for the presentation, take notes, and distribute and track decisions that arise
  • Coordinate tasks include tracking delivery, installation, and ensuring operations and security protocols are conducted
  • Support creation and maintenance of MOUs, MOAs, and other governance-related agreements
  • Liaise between end users, stakeholders, and onsite government employees
  • Demonstrate ability to proactively identify risks and opportunities

Qualifications

  • Outstanding communication, business writing, and organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required and 5 years of prior work experience. A technical degree or direct experience in engineering and/or systems development is preferred
  • Leadership experience and skills, with exceptional interpersonal and communications skills
  • Extensive experience developing technical briefs and presenting at the executive level
  • Ability to be proactive and work independently
  • Ability to work cohesively with internal and external teams
  • PMP is desired
  • Agile certification preferred
  • Able to manage shifting priorities and demanding schedules
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Strong focus and commitment to providing end user customer service
  • Familiar with DevOps or a similar tool
  • Experience with a road mapping tool
