Essential Functions :

1. Displays ability to read all measurement tools.

2. Operates machines in the tool room efficiently.

3. Helps saw, mill, grind and turn steel for multiple new jobs to required dimensions.

4. Drills holes or saws shapes in die sets or steel, per instruction list given.

5. Performs various setups on the tool room equipment, to accomplish basic machining methods.

6. With assistance pulls dies apart, disassembles, then reassemble correctly.

7. Operates grinders to sharpen die sections, punches, square up blocks, and put shear on die components.

8. Makes shim for die sections.

9. Grinds down punch blanks to replace broken punches with basic shapes.

10. Performs minor revision changes to existing tooling, with the assistance of a toolmaker.

11. Builds basic press brake tooling, drill, machine, weld and check fixtures, with the assistance of a toolmaker.

12. Uses the welder, and Acetylene torch, with guidelines established by the toolmaker.

13. Performs all duties in a safe manner, complying with safety rules and regulations.

14. Keeps work area safe and clean.

15. Uses Axapta software programs to enter time / payroll information, job information, etc.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Graduation from high school or equivalent.

1. Working knowledge of the equipment, materials, methods and practices used in production tooling operations.

2. Knowledge of production process, and metal fabrication machines, which aid in the overall understanding of die maintenance.

3. Working knowledge of related safety requirements to include proper use of safety equipment and proper safety precautions.

4. Ability to understand, follow and issue routine oral and written instructions.

5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
