Job Title: Engineering Project Manager

Work Location: Arlington, VA Position Type / Standard Work Hours: Full-time/40 hours per week Summary / Objective:
BTAS is looking for a Mid-Level Engineering Project Manager to assist with scoping and managing the execution of multiple technical studies spanning across various technologies and requirements. These studies can include but not limited to technology maturation, feasibility, integration efforts, and technology transitions.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assists with scoping and managing the execution of multiple technical studies spanning across various technologies and requirements. These studies can include but not limited to technology maturation, feasibility, integration efforts, and technology transitions
Assesses Early Systems Engineering (ESE) study reports for future capability, consulting with tech advisor and providing recommendation to Early Systems Engineering Lead / Tech Planning (TP) Lead
Provides technically sound advice and guidance to the TP and ESE leads on technology planning roadmap strategy, Science and Technology innovations and applicability to F-35 systems and subsystems
Supports the TP Team in developing strategies and plans that optimize F-35 Drivers and gaps by the development of focus areas in coordination with focus area leads
Supports the development of system and sub-system roadmaps, gathering an understanding of program and operational drivers, identifying possible solutions, and recommending studies to better understand implementation of such possible solutions
Supports planning and execution of System Modernization Working Groups for future capability planning
Networks with government & industry in order to foster an effective relationship and appreciation of F-35 future resources, needs, and challenges
Gathers inputs from multiple APD’s and execution authorities
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related discipline, plus 3 years related work experience OR a Associate’s Degree plus 4 years additional related work experience
Experience in U.S. DoD Program acquisition and management processes
Possesses significant communication (including briefing/presentation) and networking skills, including familiarity with virtual tools
Understanding of DoD Acq processes, requirement development, and technology transition/insertion planning
An understanding of other engineering and scientific disciplines, fleet operational concepts, the defense systems acquisition process, the Defense Department Planning, Programming and Budgeting System (PPBS)
Knowledge and understanding of the U.S. DoD budgetary processes over the FYDP
Experience collaborating with international programs and governments
