Position Summary: Bspoke Title Holdings is seeking a dedicated Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our portfolio of title agencies. You would be directly reporting to our executive leadership team and would be responsible for serving as an integral member in the accounting department and ensuring the department creates and delivers accurate accounting and financial operations for the organization.

Responsibilities And Duties

· Oversight of all financial operations including billing, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, cost accounting and revenue recognition

· Collaborate in the development of budgets and financial forecasts based on company performance

· Efficiently source and manage vendors and technology to optimize accounting processes

· Execute end-to-end accounting processes such as month-end accruals, GL reconciliation, journal entries, invoicing, and account reconciliation for monthly and annual closing

· Handle 1099 processing, year-end procedures, travel, and expense reimbursement, and enforce internal controls and tax regulations

· Analyze accounting information to detect and rectify inaccuracies or imbalances, maintaining accurate records within the accounting system

· Prepare financial statements and oversee budgeting and forecasting to facilitate decision-making

· Timely publication of monthly financial statements and coordination of investor reporting

· Research and address technical accounting issues to ensure compliance and maintain quality control over financial transactions and reporting

· Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

· Manage Escrow Ops department on escrow accounting items

· Oversee reconciliation of all escrow accounts for the company in a timely manner

· Manage all audits with each underwriter and Texas Department of Insurance

· Oversee payroll and commissions process

· Work closely with HR department on financial-related items

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, or related field or 10 years experience in title insurance accounting
• CPA preferred, but not required
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Proven experience as a Controller or similar role in title insurance or 2 year experience in public accounting or its equivalent.
• Strong management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
• Proficient in accounting software (i.e. QuickBooks, NetSuite, etc.)
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
