Director, Basketball Social Media will be responsible for daily content strategy and channel management, advising a team of social media publishers and content creators across the Brooklyn Nets, New York Liberty, and Brooklyn Basketball social media channels. This role will work collaboratively with the Marketing and Content teams and across the business to develop social media content that champions growth and engagement. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of how people consume social content, an eye for detail, and stay up to date on cultural and industry trends.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Be responsible for the editorial calendar and day-to-day publishing for the Nets, Liberty and Brooklyn Basketball social media accounts
• Craft organic social media channel and audience development strategies in conjunction with Content and Marketing leadership
• Lead live coverage of Nets and Liberty games and other team events, ensuring quality and consistency across all channels
• Curate, prioritize, and produce content that is consistent with team and brand messaging
• Lead in the development and execution of social content, franchises and campaigns
• Build detailed distribution plans for priority content initiatives
• Support the development of content franchises and other social platforms for third party partners & prospects
• Help steward the Talent and Influencer content strategy, production and collaborations
• Prepare reporting documents for internal/external clients that highlight strategy, execution tactics, and benchmarking against critical metrics.
• Stay on top of industry trends and identify new opportunities for the Nets and Liberty to expand their reach/impact

WHO YOU ARE:

• 7 years experience in social media role preferred
• Deep understanding of current and emerging social media platforms and trends
• Strong visual eye regarding the production and curation of social media content (photography, video, graphics)
• Experience with social media measurement tools such as Conviva and Crowd Tangle
• Experience in Adobe Creative Suite
• Knowledge of the WNBA, NBA, Liberty and Nets, including performance and stats, industry trends, and basketball culture
• Sports, media, or entertainment confirmed experience is very beneficial
• Outstanding attention to detail, project management and organization skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present concepts to team members
• Ability to work well on a team and independently

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

May be required to travel on occasions; trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay for one or more nights.

SALARY RANGE:

$120,000-$150,000

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Works primarily in an office environment but upon request will be encouraged to attend games and other events on evenings, weekends and holidays.
